The spiritual life is poetry

The marvelous
The marvelous is a need of the human soul. And what we call the unreal is in truth entirely real—more real than what we are accustomed to considering as reality. How many people, if they are sincere, must admit that fairy tales immerse them, at least for a moment, in a kind of ecstasy ! Why? Because everything in them is alive, animated, endowed with speech: rocks, flowers, trees, animals… And the forces of nature act with intelligence. But above all, beyond their apparent naivety, these tales describe realities of our inner life.
When, under certain very particular circumstances, the subtle, the unreal, the magical break into our lives, we feel like a tree that, once torn from its soil and transplanted into a hostile environment, suddenly finds its native forest again, where it can once more take root and come back to life.

Particles of light
When you go in the morning to watch the sunrise, remember that by connecting yourself to it, you are connecting to its spirit. Yes, to the spirit of the sun, which is the spirit of Christ, an emanation of God Himself. Simply exposing yourself to the sun or looking at it is not enough: to truly come into contact with the quintessence of its light, it must be your spirit that exposes itself, that connects to it, that merges with it. At the moment when you immerse yourself in the world of light, a few particles of that light enter you, and you receive the revelation of divine splendor.
